The right Digital / Multi Media Designer for this role will have a natural ability to conceptualise and design on a tight deadline. This is a good opportunity for a budding designer to grow, and the kind of environment a first time designer can embrace.

You will work closely with the head of design and campaign manager. The work will not always be glamorous, but you will get the chance to conceptualise on projects, and your voice and creative thoughts will be a valuable asset in the design team. An advantageous characteristic would be the ability to bring great design into every aspect of the workplace, and creatively inspire the team in a spacious, modern office in the heart of Cape Town.

Requirements

• A portfolio of high quality creative, which you will need to share as part of this application
• 2 - 4 years’ experience in a digital environment is essential
• Creative flair, originality and strong crafting ability
• Comfortable in vector element design, page mock-ups, typography, iconography and web & mobile based creative
• Knowledge of social media best practices
• Experience in mobile design is beneficial
• Expert skills in Adobe Photoshop
• Excellent Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator skills
• Strong communication skills ability to work independently and pro-actively
• Working in a fast-paced environment, ability to work quickly
• A commitment to working to industry best practices
• Flexibility and ability to handle tight deadlines
• Experience in Video Editing, Audio Recording and Editing as well as stills Photography essential.

Responsibilities

• Roll-out of creative for sale campaigns, newsletters & social media
• Producing display banner sets for affiliates & partners
• Upholding the brand look & feel across all owned media channels
• Ensure all creative projects maintain a high degree of integrity, quality and consistency
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and articulate your design decisions
• Creating assets that adhere to each platform’s best practices, ie: 80/20 rule
• Being a reliable team player

• You take pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality work. After all, whatever you touch ends up looking good
• You have a well-developed understanding of colour theory, typography and balance
• You have a great sense for impeccable design and are up to date with the latest creative trends
• You keep an ever-growing inspiration archive full of styles & tutorials you want to try next
• You've grown accustomed to using Adobe Photoshop as your weapon of choice, but can also work with Adobe After Effects and other Adobe apps
• You keep your files and layers super-organized
• You are capable of meeting deadlines without breaking a sweat
• Knowing how to create HTML5, and/or other complementary skills such as illustration or videography are bonuses
