We were in for a treat when we found out our visit coincided with the live music they have every Thursday evening at the hotel\u2019s <em>Liberty\u2019s Restaurant<\/em> (an upcoming act is <em>Just Jinjer<\/em>). In a sentence, the restaurant exceeded all expectations \u2013 beautiful, stunning food, well priced and friendly staff.\u00a0 The extensive a la carte menu from <strong>Exec Chef Simon Kemp<\/strong> blends fusion food offerings and traditional fare (we hear his homemade burgers are legendary). The <em>estreet Bar<\/em> is attached and includes an enclosed cigar lounge and a library area.<\/p>\n<h3>The Rooms<\/h3>\n<p>I stayed in the <strong>Executive Suite<\/strong>. The room is modern, simplistic yet stylish with all the added comforts to enhance the hotel experience. Some of the room features that stood out for me included free Wi-Fi, laptop safes, minibar and satellite TV and I\u2019m told the Loft Suites have their own espresso machines.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Book Upper East Side Hotel\" href=\"http:\/\/hotels.travelstart.co.za\" target=\"_blank\">Book Now<\/a>!<\/p>\n<h2>Who should stay at this Cape Town Hotel?<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Upper Eastside<\/strong> is well priced and a good option for the business traveller. While the hotel punts itself as a \u2018non-traditional business hotel\u2019, their affordability and child-friendly accommodation rates (children under 11 free) makes it a great place to stay for families visiting Cape Town.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20245\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20245\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/upper-eastside-hotel-cape-town\/upper-east-side-hotel-rooms\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20245\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20245\" title=\"Upper East Side Hotel Rooms\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Upper-East-Side-Hotel-Rooms.jpg\" alt=\"Upper East Side Hotel Rooms\" width=\"570\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-20245\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Executive Suite blends retro style with modern comforts (left) while the Loft rocks! (right)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Value Added Services<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Free shuttle service to and from the Cape Town CBD<\/li>\n<li>Mini Mall attached to the hotel including a hair salon and Vida e Caff\u00e8<\/li>\n<li>Safe &amp; secure underground parking<\/li>\n<li>Their conference division is able to do large scale corporate events. Huge boardrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual kit and natural light makes for a pleasant experience for delegates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>In the Area<\/h3>\n<p>The urban suburb of <strong>Woodstock<\/strong> is steeped in history and is currently going through a revival attracting business, arts and culture. The District Six Museum is just up the road from the hotel, as is the <a title=\"Great Lunch Spots in Woodstock Cape Town\" href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/great-lunch-spots-in-woodstock\/ \" target=\"_blank\">Old Biscuit Mill<\/a> \u2013 one of Cape Town\u2019s favourite creative hubs. The hotel is very close to Roodebloem Street which is high on Cape Town spirit and is well known for its urban charm and artistic flair.<\/p>\n<p>The Upper Eastside Hotel\u2019s Trip Advisor rating has increased drastically since their opening and this further cements their status as a <strong>world class boutique hotel<\/strong>. It\u2019s safe to say we really like the Upper Eastside Hotel and they get added kudos for being avid supporters of Cape Town\u2019s bid to be the <a title=\"Cape Town World Design Capital 2014\" href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/world-design-capital-2014\/ \" target=\"_blank\">World Design Capital in 2014<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/world-design-capital-2014\/ \"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20226\" title=\"WDC 2014 Cape Town\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/badge-1.png\" alt=\"WDC 2014 Cape Town\" width=\"99\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Check Travelstart&#8217;s <a title=\"Online Hotel Bookings\" href=\"http:\/\/hotels.travelstart.co.za\/\" target=\"_self\">online hotel bookings<\/a> regularly for Upper Eastside Hotel prices.
