So when I discover a unique airport feature, it usually attracts my attention.<\/p>\n<p>Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen Denmark has a unique feature that always jumps out at me&#8230;. one that I often <em>smell<\/em> before I see each time I land there.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-21118\" href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/pause-for-a-p%c3%b8lse\/steffsplacebagage-2\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21118\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Steffsplacebagage1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a>At the baggage reclaim area rests Steff\u2019s Place, a famous Danish p\u00f8lse (sausage) vendor that serves customers right at the luggage carousels. The red Danish sausages are of excellent quality and are considered one of the national dishes, and are so popular Danes have to enjoy one <em>before<\/em> they even pick up their luggage.<\/p>\n<p>The feature hasn\u2019t been at the airport forever, and my best estimation is that it may now be three or so years in the location. But I have yet to see it without a queue, and many of my Danish friends love it.<\/p>\n<p>I always out of curiosity ask Danish friends if they enjoy the p\u00f8lse station at the luggage carousels at Copenhagen Airport, and the\u00a0responses I get are overwhelmingly positive. I hear comments like \u201cwhen you\u2019re returning from a vacation in a foreign place, you really can\u2019t wait any longer for a p\u00f8lse.\u201d\u00a0 But couldn\u2019t you wait until <em>after<\/em> you pick up your luggage? \u00a0&#8220;Not really.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One friend admitted to me that he begins thinking of the p\u00f8lse station before his flight even lands. Others make a sensible argument, that the luggage normally takes 10-15 minutes to arrive anyways, which is just enough time to enjoy a p\u00f8lse.<\/p>\n<p>Next time you land at Copenhagen airport, be sure to pause for a p\u00f8lse before you pick up your luggage.
