I wanted to find out what he as an avid world traveller thought of the town and what he&#8217;d recommend one must see, do and eat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25192\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/DSCF5572.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><strong>Must-see attraction?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>The Dom Luis I bridge (above). It looks like the Eiffel Tower lying on its  side  and it spans the river that separates Porto from Gaia, where port  wine  actually comes from. Built by one of Mister Eiffel&#8217;s assistants, Dom Luis I bridge is  particularly majestic, and going from one side to the other on foot is  an experience you are not likely to forget.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Must eat?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Francesinha. Two slices of bread with ham, sausage and roast beef  in-between, smothered in cheese and lying in a pepper-tomato-beer sauce  might sound a little nauseating, but it is incredible! Too many will  inevitably lead to a heart attack, but while you&#8217;re alive, have one! The  Portuguese go to <em>Diu<\/em> (Rua da Boavista 663). The atmosphere is electric,  especially over  lunch any day of the week, and the service and the food  are both  top-class.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25264\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/cheese.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"477\" height=\"321\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<p>For home-made gelato you should visit the &#8217;50s Ice-Cream Shop called\u00a0<em>Gelataria Sincelo<\/em> (located at 54, Rua de Ceuta).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/roomys.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"491\" height=\"378\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Their specialty is an ice-cream filled cr\u00eape, topped with thick whipped cream and\u00a0smothered in chocolate sauce. It&#8217;s not exactly cheap &#8211; a\u00a0cr\u00eape with two scoops costs\u00a0\u20ac4.90, three scoops cost\u00a0\u20ac5.20 &#8211; but it is an absolute must when you&#8217;re spending summer in Porto.
