This is where you experience the true tastes, smells, culture\u00a0and people who live in this <a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/a-walking-tour-of-istanbul\/\" target=\"_blank\">vibrant\u00a0city<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, a visit to Istanbul is not complete without at least spending some time at a few (or all) of these markets:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25040\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/spice.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"504\" height=\"336\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spice Bazaar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tourists sure love this spot. As you wander through the market you smell freshly-ground Mehmet Efendi coffee and various spice mixes. Open seven days a week, this is one of Istanbul&#8217;s best markets for finding dried fruits and nuts, spices, olives, delicious Turkish delight and fragrant oils. A must visit.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/saf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"548\" height=\"404\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Sahaflar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Located between<strong> <\/strong>Grand Bazaar and Beyazit Mosque, this is\u00a0<em>the <\/em>place for bookworms. The market now hosts a whopping 23 books stores, which promise only to deliver the best in poetry, academic books, novels and much more. It&#8217;s definitely worth spending a leisurely afternoon of browsing here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25039\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/grandbazaar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"421\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grand Bazaar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is without a doubt the\u00a0<em>complete market expierence<\/em>. With over 61 covered streets and over 3,000 shops, this is one of the world&#8217;s most extraordinary market places. The bazaar is open every day except for Sundays. Here you&#8217;ll find basically anything, but the main things to look for are the beautiful mosaic lamps and jewelry.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25050\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/fruitandveg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inebolu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is absolute foodie heaven! Here you&#8217;ll find fresh organic produce, home-made corn bread, fragrant herbs, pastes and purees, crates of eggs, beautiful flowers, nuts and a variety of olives.
