I spoke to one of the owners, Jose Goncalves, about his lovely new Cuban-style restaurant:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What&#8217;s your restaurant\u2019s concept\/ theme\/ vision:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The critical starting point for the design was to offer the opportunity for guests to dine in an elegant setting.\u00a0 We wanted to provide a space that is luxurious and up-market in the evening, but\u00a0 equally comfortable and relaxing during the day.\u00a0 <em>Little Havana<\/em> is spacious with large open windows which let in natural light.\u00a0 Crisp white table cloths juxtapose against darker wooden tables and booth seating; and white leather chairs enrich the look and feel of the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deck is a beautiful, relaxing space with copper trims and cladding on the walls, wooden flooring, hanging lanterns for softer lighting and slowly moving ceiling fans.\u00a0 <em>Little Havana <\/em>carries through the feel of Havana Grill (Suncoast) with a newer, more modern and trendy vibe to it, while at the same time maintaining the heartbeat of Havana Grill (their other restaurant, also in KwaZulu-Natal) .\u00a0 <em>Little Havana\u2019s<\/em> contemporary design and decor create a space that\u2019s elegant and relaxed yet still sophisticated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What kind of food do you serve?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We would class it as international with a dash of local flavour.\u00a0 <em>Little Havana<\/em>, much like Havana Grill, has an extensive selection of grills and specialities; but with the addition of a wood fire oven the menu now includes slow roasted pork belly and wood fired duck. Sounds delicious!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/cuban-charm-at-little-havana-umhlanga-rocks\/032_little-havana\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-25162\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25162\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/032_little-havana.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"573\" height=\"382\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Most likely clientele?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Discerning diners, business clientele from the Ridge and tourists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Your busiest night\/day of the week is\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Friday and Saturday evenings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The dish you\u2019d recommend to everyone is the\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I would recommend three dishes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BONE-IN FILLET (500g) &#8211; mash, wilted spinach, red wine &amp; pearl onion sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>WOOD FIRED DUCK &#8211; baby beetroot, horseradish &amp; chives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>SLOW COOKED CRISPY PORK BELLY &#8211; roast apple, bacon, thyme &amp; mustard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Price range?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starters: R42-R65<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Main Courses: R85-R155 (excluding meat platter and shellfish)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desserts:
