Here she tells us a bit more about this beautiful metropolis:<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Which is your favourite area of the town\/city. Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>Shanghai basically consists of two parts, Pudong and Puxi. I used to stay in the area of 7Pudong near <em>Century Avenue, <\/em>which is a\u00a0bustling\u00a0place that is also great for tourists.<em>\u00a0<\/em>This is a relatively\u00a0newly\u00a0developed area\u00a0featuring\u00a0futuristic looking high-rise building.\u00a0So head here if you&#8217;re looking to be inspired by the new and innovative. Yet, I recently moved to Puxi where you&#8217;ll find most of the\u00a0historical and scenic sites &#8211; ideal for tourists.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28718\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28718\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/?attachment_id=28718\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28718\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28718\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/8700630783_542078de62.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28718\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Huangpu Park, The Bund<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Must-see sights?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>The Bund (Waitan) is an absolute must-see sight &#8211;\u00a0a breathtaking architectural structure of Shanghai. From here you can see so much. You will also see\u00a0the <em>Lujiazui\u00a0<\/em>skyscrapers across the Huangpu River, the Yu Garden, Tian Zi Fang and the East Nan Jing Lu. All worth your while for sure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>You simply must do&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>You must learn at least three or more\u00a0<em>Shanghainese\u00a0<\/em>sentences in order to feel like you fit in (if only a little bit) with the locals. Using these sentences always makes for a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/?attachment_id=28717\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28717\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travelstart.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/3619398332_5b1e1a2fdd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Be sure to eat this&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>You must eat Xiao Long Bao and many different Shanghai Dianxin &#8211; basically Chinese dumplings. So many varieties and flavours are available, it&#8217;s incredible.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Are people friendly\/ helpful to tourists?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong>People are very friendly for the most part, but \u00a0most of the older people struggle to \u00a0speak any English.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How many days do you need in the city?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You need just 2-3 days to see the main sights\u00a0in the city. But it&#8217;s worth it to stay for longer to explore the ancient towns like Qibao and Zhujiajiao.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A must-visit
