Lately this is a South African favourite, since you don&#8217;t need to get visa prior to your trip. You normally get it at the airport during passport control &#8211; or sometimes they just forget.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;\">1. Where?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Istanbul, Turkey<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;\">2. Which area did you stay in? How was it?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sultanahmet, the Old City. When visiting Istanbul it is a must to stay in this area. It is so authentically beautiful and intriguing. What local delicacy should one try?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Everything here smells amazing, from the fresh Turkish coffees to the syrupy baklavas and the doner kebabs. All of these can basically be found on every street corner. Also drink lots of Efes beer and apple tea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/?attachment_id=29145\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29145\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-29145\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/baklava.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"432\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;\">5. Are the people helpful\/friendly?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Very friendly and helpful. Take the locals&#8217; tips, sometimes it can really help in a city so overrun by tourists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;\">7.
