There is a lot that you can see there! The only countries that are not visa free are French Guyana, Suriname and Bolivia.<\/p>\n<h2>How to get there<\/h2>\n<p>The easiest way is on SAA\u2019s direct flight from Johannesburg to Sao Paulo; from here you can connect on to a number of other cities.\u00a0 You can also fly airlines such as Emirates, Qatar, and Turkish Airlines but your travel time will be far greater.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Venezuela<\/h2>\n<p>Lets start out at the top of South America: Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>It has a reputation of being a pariah state, but there are loads of beautiful places you can go and see. If you ever watched a David Attenborough documentary you would have seen a lot of Venezuela. It is home to The Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world.<\/p>\n<h2>Colombia<\/h2>\n<p>Colombia has also had a bad rap in the press for many years but it is home to some beautiful cities, and is on the Caribbean so there are stunning beaches.<\/p>\n<h2>Ecuador<\/h2>\n<p>Things get very interesting when you start heading down towards places like Ecuador. Ecuador was mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/5-unusual-visa-free-island-destinations-south-africans-faq-fridays\/\" target=\"_blank\">our previous video<\/a> where we mentioned the Galapagos Islands, which it is famous for. It is also famous for the Andes running through it and some beautiful volcanoes and tropical scenery. It\u2019s capital, Quito, is an interesting place that is very close to the equator and is as high above sea level as the Drakensberg. This means that it has a very mild climate. Temperatures never go below 9 degrees Celsius at night or above 20 degrees Celsius during the day.<\/p>\n<h2>Peru<\/h2>\n<p>Peru is most famous for being home of the Inca. There are amazing mountains where the Incas used to live. Machu Picchu is its most famous historical site. Tourists the world over have been visiting there for a very long time. One can also visit Lake Titicaca, which is the highest navigable lake in the world. Peru is home to some fascinating culture; the Uru people build floating reed islands, which they live on. Something that most people don\u2019t know is that the Peru is home to huge sways of the Amazon Jungle, and many of the Amazon cruises that one can go on leave from Iquitos.<\/p>\n<h2>Chile<\/h2>\n<p>Chile is a massive country; it is 4200km long (equivalent to the distance from Johannesburg to Port Harcourt in Nigeria) but only 445km wide at its widest point. Chile is a country of great contrast, in the north one finds desert and in the south one finds fjords and glaciers.<\/p>\n<h2>Argentina<\/h2>\n<p>Argentina is home to the Andes Mountains, which it shares with Chile. The capital, Buenos Aires, is a colorful city which is the home of the tango and as well as some of the finest steaks in the world. North from Buenos Aires you can visit Iguassu Falls, situated on the Argentine\/Brazilian border.<\/p>\n<h2>Brazil<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/5-unusual-visa-free-island-destinations-south-africans-faq-fridays\/\" target=\"_blank\">Last week<\/a> we touched on Brazil&#8217;s beautiful islands and beaches, these include the small town of Paraty and Ilha Grande. Another great town to visit is the historic town of Salvador, which features an array of Portuguese architecture.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to travel to the whole list of visa free countries in South America you can also visit Paraguay, Uruguay and Guyana.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it for this week.
