It\u2019s time to haul out the camping gear, dust off the old skottel braai and head away for a bit of rough and tumble fun!<\/p>\n<p>Although I\u2019m sure we could all agree that camping is definitely more suited to summer months, the heat may get a little intense at times. But it\u2019s nothing a refreshing dip can\u2019t fix\u2026 that\u2019s why we\u2019ve rounded up 26 sea, river and dam-side campsites to pitch a tent and pack off around South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Take a look and tell us which you would add to the list! All stands have 220-volt power points, braai facilities and most are wheelchair friendly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities:<\/strong> Apart from being one of the prettiest beaches on the Garden Route, Victoria Bay is especially famous for two things: fishing and surfing. An iconic little peer allows fishermen to cast their lines into the water right between where the surfers ride and the swimmers frolic, meaning that no-one\u2019s water-based activity interferes with anyone else\u2019s. The smooth right point break tops many-a wave rider\u2019s favourite surf spot list and may get crowded over December holidays. While the rocky shoreline provides a host of perfect perches from which to cast your fishing line, the beach is a hit with sunbathers, swimmers and surfers. Security is provided by 24-hour guards keeping an eye on the grounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities:<\/strong> Located in the very heart of the Hibiscus coast, Ilanga offers the visitors a dreamy subtropical break. With direct access to Banana Beach, swimming, surfing, fishing and exploring rock pools couldn\u2019t be easier! For those who aren\u2019t fond of dipping more than their feet into the ocean (although with shark nets and a tidal pool, there\u2019s really nothing to be afraid of), dive right into the resort\u2019s sparkling swimming pool or indulge in a game of tennis or darts. There are also no fridges, freezers or cooking utensils, so be sure to bring everything you may need, as well as drinking water and fire wood. By now you\u2019ve probably guessed that there\u2019s also no electricity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities:<\/strong> Located a mere 20m from Bhanga Nek Beach, it\u2019s really all about location! If you\u2019re looking to escape the crowds, immerse yourself in nature and have pristine golden beaches all to yourself, this is your spot. Bhanga Nek is situated 12km south of the Kosi Bay estuary at the southern shore of the Kosi Bay Lake system. It\u2019s rather remote and can only be reached by 4&#215;4. The entire area is a fisherman\u2019s dream, with its huge variety of beaches, rocky shores and lakes.
