The event has evolved in its relatively short lifespan \u2013 we\u2019ve seen the <a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/travelstart\">Travel Massive social network<\/a> launch as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/jobs\/\">Travel Massive Marketplace<\/a> which helps members promote and discover tourism opportunities around the world. Virtual stuff aside the best part of Travel Massive is in the face-to-face interactions at the FREE events hosted in amazing venues ranging from snazzy hotels and yachts to aquariums and even our very own <a href=\"https:\/\/travelstartstg.wpenginepowered.com\/travelstart-cape-town-office-photos\/\">Travelstart HQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0it launched two years ago organisers Simon Lewis and <a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/dawnjorgensen\">Dawn Jorgensen<\/a> probably didn\u2019t realise they were hatching something that would fast-become the most highly anticipated event on the tourism industry social calendar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/onceincapetown\"><em>Once in Cape Town<\/em><\/a>, the boutique backpackers above YoursTruly, was the venue for T Massive Cape Town\u2019s maiden voyage on 30 April 2014.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Golden Rule: Don\u2019t register for Travel Massives you don\u2019t plan on attending<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52120\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52120\" style=\"width: 770px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-52120\" src=\"https:\/\/travelstartmu.wpenginepowered.com\/zablog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/Simon-Lewis-Travel-Massive-Cape-Town.jpg\" alt=\"Simon (left) and Dawn (right) introduce Travel Massive to Cape Town - 30\/04\/2014.\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52120\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simon (left) and Dawn (right) introduce Travel Massive to Cape Town &#8211; 30\/04\/2014.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Not only is the Cape Town chapter of Travel Massive one of the most anticipated, it is also one of the movements success stories\u00a0out of their 125 global chapters; to put things into perspective chapter leader Simon Lewis gave me some stats:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel Massive Cape Town celebrates 2 years in April 2016.<\/li>\n<li>The Cape Town chapter is the fastest growing Travel Massive chapter in the world.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/chapters\/cape-town\">Travel Massive Cape Town<\/a> boasts over 800 active members.<\/li>\n<li>Cape Town Massive has hosted <a href=\"https:\/\/travelmassive.com\/node\/12843\/events\/12843\">12 events in 24 months<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Each event has been fully sponsored by local travel and tourism companies.
