Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp, Kruger National Park

This camp is very small and in the south eastern corner of the park – just a stone’s throw from the Mozambican border and Maputo. It is also on the northern banks of the Crocodile River, where it gets it name from.

Accommodation at Crocodile Bridge Rest camp consists of bungalows, safari tents and caravan/tent campi.jpgng sites. Staying over in one of their safari tents is a real experience – especially if you stay over in a tent close to the fence which makes it easier to spot the hyena when braaiing in the moonlight.  Getting to sleep at night can be difficult as lions roar in the distance!

The area around the rest camp is flat and dotted with Marula trees alongside the Crocodile River. The camp overlooks kilometres of farmland. The northern bank of the river is only 13km from the town of Komatipoort, 12km from the Mozambican Border and 77km from Skukuza Rest Camp.

The game viewing area is known as the ‘Southern Circle’ and is famous for its concentration of different prides of Lion.  You will also definitely spot Rhino in the area, as it is home to a larger percentage of the parks total Rhino population.

  1. I would like to thank Mariette Strydom and Irving Knight for going out of their way to make our experience of Crocodile brige the most memorable and unforgettable. I am very impressed by their friendly and helpfull attitude, i sincerely appreciate your kindness. Elsie Krige, Meyerton

  2. Never stayed here – it must be one of the few camps in the park I haven’t (even including the north). Just by passing through and stopping at the shop etc., I know it would be an amazing camp. Great area also – being within the ‘Southern Circle’ and all that. Some guides say it has some of the best wildlife sighting opportunities & drives in Kruger 🙂
