Debegeni Waterfall – Tzaneen, Limpopo

One of my most favourite places to go to for a pi.jpgcnic (or braai) is the Debegeni Waterfall just outside Tzaneen in the Limpopo province.

The falls are in a protected nature reserve. A long winding gravel road flanked by mountain and plantation will lead you to a boom gate. (The entrance fee is per car.) Just behind the boom gate a steep road leads you down to the parking area.

At the falls you can swim in the natural rock pools – but be warned, the water is icy cold. If you are really adventurous, you can take a natural shower under the falls.
Some people also use the smooth rock formation as a waterslide. Taking this water ride may be dangerous.*

  • There are no shops on the premises
  • Braais are available
  • Ablution facilities are available
  • * The waterslide can cause injuries
  • Log cabins are for rent in the reserve

Have something to say...
