England football team travel to South Africa on Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic will be flying the England team to Johannesburg on June the 2nd for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The airline has been picked as the Official Airline Supplier to the England Squad and Sir Richard Branson is pulling out all the stops. The team of 23 (minus Becks according to the latest news) and its manager will travel in style on an airbus A340-600. The team will be whizzed through a special security channel at Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Wing at London Heathrow airport.

On board they won’t be slumming it in cattle class either as they will be pampered in Virgin’s award-winning Upper Class Suite. They’ll be able to get comfy in their lie flat beds under a cosy duvet, indulge in some (obviously virgin) cocktails from the well stocked on-board bar, watch hours and hours of the latest in-flight movies and even enjoy an in-flight massage from one of the therapists. All this while they have the stylish flight attendants at their beck and call. Sir Richard Branson who is never one to understate things, says: ‘they will be looked after in style by our world-class crew, so that when they arrive in Johannesburg, they’ll be ready to take on the world.’ Well, maybe not the whole world, but at least the teams that are competing in this tournament. But he’s right about one thing. With an on board treatment like that, how can they not be ready to win that much coveted World Cup?

Have something to say...
