Why do you have to get an IDP (International Driver’s Licence/Permit)?
If you want to drive in another country (other than your own) you need to get an IDP. This (+ your South African driver’s license) will allow you to legally drive on another country’s roads. Do you still need to take your South African driver’s licence if you have a IDP?

How much does it cost and where can you get it?
AA Travel Shops sell it at a cost of R150.

What do you take along when you apply for your IDP?
You take your ID book, current valid driver’s license, 2 passport photos and cash.
