Unaccompanied Minors – Going back to Innocence

Do you remember when everything was so simple?

Its the summer, we usually get quite a few unaccompanied minors on our flights.  I never understood how parents can feel safe with their child traveling alone, but hey, I guess you have to do what you have to do.

So on this particular flight, I had 3 minors.  They do not know each other, they get dropped off and at the gate, we take them down to the plane.  Then we have to make sure they don’t get off when we get to our destination until we bring them back up to meet whoever is picking them up.

So I bring these 3 girls down to the plane and show them their seats.  They are all sitting at different rows and not really near each other.  By the short time that we boarded and were getting to push back from the gate, the girls had managed to get a row of seats together so they can chat.

On this short hour and half flight, the 3 of them chatted non-stop.  By the middle of the flight, one of the girls even had her legs dangled over the other girls legs like they have known each other all their lives.

When they deplaned, they stopped at the gate area to exchange phone numbers and information.  I stopped and asked them if they are going to keep in touch, they all smiled brightly and said, “We’re going to add each other on facebook right when we get home!!!”

ahhhh…innocence is so sweet ^_^
