Grantley Adams International Airport – BGI
Grantley Adams International Airport is the only major airport and gateway to Barbados as well as serving as a key air transportation hub for the Caribbean region. The airport is located 13km from the capital city, Bridgetown.
Having undergone major improvements, the airport houses modern amenities with spacious air lounges, business and conference facilities; and easily accommodates around three million passengers annually.
The airport is also home to the Barbados Concorde Experience – a museum which affords you the opportunity to explore a genuine British Airways supersonic aircraft.
The airport recommends that travelers check in 3 hours prior to the departure of international flights and 2 hours prior to the departure of regional flights.
Food and beverage: Chefette Restaurants, Banks Bar, Island Grill, Grab ‘N’ Go, Asia Express, Cream, Gate Zero Bar, Christophe’s Café.
Currency Exchange: A full service bank and three currency exchange bureaus (cambios) are available at Grantley Adams International Airport.
Lost Luggage: Airlines are responsible for checked in luggage. If any of your items is missing, or if you find items belonging to someone else, immediately report this to Grantley Adams Airport Duty Manager on 420-2900.
Airport Hotels: There is no hotel on site. The Shonlan Airport Hotel catering to both business travellers and holidaymakers is a two minute drive from the airport.
Car Hire: Courtesy Rent-A-Car, S&W Car Rental and Drive-A-Matic have desks at the airport, located outside the arrivals hall.
