Fly To Taichung, Taiwan
With inner city shopping options that have been likened to that of Hong Kong and Singapore, a bustling nightlife, and local fare guaranteed to satisfy even the fussiest palates, it’s safe to say Taichung in western Taiwan is a great spot if you’re visiting or just passing through on your way to nearby Nantou, Sun Moon Lake, and MiaoLi County.
Located 20km from the coast and 100km south of Taipei, Taichung is the third largest city in Taiwan and is recognised as a major manufacturing hub. While the temples, markets, parks, and museums of Taichung are a favourite among visiting tourists, perhaps what the city is most well-known for is Bubble Tea!

See and do
The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts is a definite must-visit on a trip to Taichung. Here you will find the largest collection of Taiwanese art in the country and you can spend hours strolling through the collection of creative works. From here you can follow a scenic green walkway called the Parkway to the National Museum of Natural Science.
In this particularly impressive setup you will find six different venues dedicated to exhibit everything to do with natural science. The venues are split up into the Space IMAX Theater, Science Center, Life Science Hall, Chinese Science Hall, Global Environment Hall and the Botanical Garden. Some of the exhibits even rotate – children love it.
The Taichung Folklore Park will give you a glimpse into the history of the region. It is dedicated to representing a more traditional way of Taiwanese life. You’ll see both authentic and recreated buildings and streets that are much more rustic than those of modern Taichung.
