What’s an airline code you ask?

Airline codes are set by IATA (International Air Transport Association). These are two-character designation codes assigned to the world’s airlines. Although the IATA standard provides for three-character codes, IATA has so far not used the optional third character in any assigned code. Controlled duplicates are issued to regional airlines whose destinations are unlikely to overlap.
