• Founded in 1995 Edelweiss is today the leading Swiss holiday airline. As a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines and a member of the Lufthansa Group, Edelweiss flies guests nonstop to over 70 holiday destinations worldwide. Edelweiss will again return with direct seasonable flights between Cape Town and Zurich with three weekly flights on Mon/Wed/Thu returning on Tue/Wed/Sun, commencing 2nd November 2022 until 30 March 2023.

For Swiss International Air Lines flights from South Africa, baggage allowance is set by the airline as follows:

• Economy Class – 1 piece per passenger at 23kg
• Business Class – 2 pieces per passenger at 32kg
• First Class – 3 pieces per passenger at 32kg

Passengers are allowed to have one piece of hand baggage at 7kg and a slim line laptop bag or a small hand bag. Infants and small children (under 2 years) have a baggage allowance of 1 piece weighing no more than 23kg plus a folding pram in all SWISS classes.

Added Baggage Bonus: If you’re flying Swiss International Economy Class from South Africa to USA, Canada or Mexico; you can take an extra bag (23kg) bringing the total baggage allowance to 46kg (2 pieces).

All SWISS flights depart from OR Tambo International Airport and passengers are required to check in for their flights 60 minutes before departure. It is also recommended that passengers arrive at the airport and the departure gates well in advance to avoid rushing.
