Turkish Airlines is offering a complimentary tour service, Touristanbul, to their passengers with international transfer flights. Passengers with a connecting flight from İstanbul and a layover time between 6 and 24 hours can benefit from Touristanbul and start exploring the city for free! Discover historic and iconic landmarks, relish in delicious cuisine and immerse in captivating culture.

How to book?

Step 1

If you are on an international flight that connects through İstanbul with a layover between six (6) and twenty-four (24) hours, you can enjoy the Touristanbul service. For more information regarding tour times, please check the Touristanbul website.

Step 2

Present yourself at the Turkish Airlines Hotel Desk located in the International Arrivals Hall of Istanbul Airport (after Passport Control & Customs) 30 minutes before the tour starting time. Or, the exciting new option of pre-booking on the Turkish Airlines. Go to Touristanbul and follow the easy steps to secure your booking

Step 3

Passengers can take advantage of the free tour using their ticket number only if it is a ticket issued by Turkish Airlines and has a ticket number starting with 235. Touristanbul is available for Turkish Airlines’ flights including codeshare flights.

Step 4

Before visiting Türkiye, you can obtain an e-visa at www.evisa.gov.tr/. South Africans need to apply for a free of charge e-visa to before arriving at the airport and entering the country and take part in Touristanbul.

Step 5

Please check your country’s requirements to see if it is necessary to obtain a visa to enter Türkiye.

Step 6

If you are eligible for an e-visa you may obtain it from the Turkish Airlines Sales / Ticket Desks before or on the day of your departure.
