Comair Limited was founded in 1946, and is currently managed and proudly owned by South Africans through its listing on the JSE. Comair has been operating successfully within southern Africa for more than six decades with an internationally recognized safety record. Since 1996, they have been operating local and regional services within southern Africa under the British Airways livery as part of their license agreement with British Airways Plc.

British Airways (operated by Comair) is a full-service airline operating over 400 flights per week within southern Africa. The airline brings with it a rich heritage of stylish travel, a reputation for service excellence, and a wide range of products. Its prestigious Executive Club frequent flyer programme enables customers to earn Tier Points (Avios), through their flight activity, which determines their Executive Club status.

Economy Class Checked Baggage

Infants (under 2) and Children (up to 11 years): 1 bag weighing up to 23kg plus a fully collapsible pushchair (stroller) and 1 car seat.

Adults and Young Adults (from 12 years): 1 bag weighing up to 23kg

Business Class Checked Baggage

Infants (under 2): 1 bag weighing up to 23kg plus a fully collapsible pushchair (stroller) and 1 car seat.

Children (2 - 11 years): 2 bags weighing up to 32kg each plus a fully collapsible pushchair (stroller) and 1 car seat.

Adults and Young Adults (from 12 years): 2 bags weighing up to 32kg each.

Heavy Bags and Excess Baggage

• Passengers who travel in Economy Class and exceed the baggage allowance of 23kg will be charged a Heavy Bag Fee.

• Additional bags over and above the free Checked Baggage Allowance will be charged an Extra Bag Fee.

• All bags weighing more than 32kg cannot be accepted at Check-In, and will need to be carried as cargo.

Comair strongly recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of their scheduled flights. Please expect delayed processing times to access the terminal, due to screening by the Port Health Authority, before being permitted to access the airport terminal.

Customers will further be required to have the following:

• Face Mask

• Printed/Electronic Boarding Pass (phone or tablet)

• ID or Passport

• Health Declaration

All domestic and regional Comair flight check-in closes 45 minutes prior to departure. All passengers are required to adhere to these check-in times.

Passengers must be present at the boarding gate no later than the time specified on the boarding pass or advised at check-in.

If the passenger fails to arrive at the boarding gate in time, they will not be allowed to board the flight.

Please note that all onboard catering on domestic flights has been suspended, due to current national Covid restrictions.

British Airways (operated by Comair) offers passengers two cabin classes:

Economy Class

Passengers in Economy Class (Traveller) can look forward to comfortable, reclining seats, freshly prepared meals and beverages, a Highlife Magazine and premium service.

Business Class

Passengers in Business Class (Club) can expect luxury and extended perks, including access to the award-winning SLOW lounge, access to the Special Services Team, 24-hour complimentary Valet Parking at O.R Tambo and Cape Town International Airports, dedicated check-in, a generous baggage allowance of two bags weighing up to 32kg each reclining seats on-board, freshly prepared meals and a large selection of beverages.
