Colombo is Sri Lanka’s capital as well as being the largest city in the country.  The city is also a port which exports many natural products such as rice and spices from Sri Lanka to the rest of the world.
Sri Lanka’s architecture also sticks out owing to its colonial style from the days when it was known as Ceylon.  The city also offers fantastic opportunities for fine dining and shopping in one of new shopping centres which are going up in the city.  Many visitors to Sri Lanka will often only stay in Colombo for a night whilst heading towards another destination such as the famous coastline of the country, though it is recommended you stay at least a couple days due to the vast amount of attractions available.  These include a range of fantastic museums, art galleries and landmarks within the city.  The local food which is readily available at low prices is also exceptional and is a must when visiting the country.
