Entebbe International Airport – EBB

Entebbe Airport (code EBB) is Uganda’s main international airport and most likely where you’ll land on flights to Entebbe as well as flights to Kampala from Johannesburg. The one airport serves both the capital (Kampala) and the old capital (Entebbe) because the two cities are just 36km apart (that’s a lesser distance than Johannesburg and Pretoria). In most cases you’ll need to travel through Kampala if you’re looking to get from Entebbe to pretty much anywhere else in Uganda.

From the airport it’s easy to get into Entebbe’s city centre. A private taxi can reach the centre in about 10 minutes or you can share a taxi if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative. Buses and taxis offer direct transfers to Kampala from Entebbe. Entebbe International Airport offers scheduled passenger services to Johannesburg on SAA, as well as Dubai (Emirates), London Heathrow (British Airways), Cairo (EgyptAir), Amsterdam (KLM), Doha (Qatar Airways) and Istanbul (Turkish Airlines). Did you know? Entebbe Airport is a training facility location of the United States military.
