Fly To Lafayette, Louisiana
Lafayette epitomises Cajun culture and this is one of the main reasons that it’s such a popular tourist destination. The city also boasts a strong Creole influence. Although this is stronger in New Orleans, you will be able to savour the cuisine and culture of both in Lafayette.
Located along the Vermilion River in the south-western part of Louisiana, Lafayette was founded in 1821 by a French-speaking Acadian by the name of Jean Mouton. Today it’s most famous for its medical profession, not the agriculture that was predominant for most of its existence.
