1. Kayak with dolphins & seals

Ever imagined sitting in a boat looking at frolicking dolphins, whales and seals, with the majestic view of Table Mountain at your feet? Experience this dream come true with a peninsula tour that is one for the memory books. Launching daily from the V & A Waterfront, the guides at Atlantic Outlook lead you to unparalleled views of Cape Town from the ocean.

2. Walk and sip your way through the Constantia Wine Valley

Those who enjoy the outdoors and a good glass of wine can combine these two activities on the Constantia Wine Walk, an insightful tour through some of the most gorgeous scenery in the city. The tour kicks off at Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine farm, then sets off to Klein Constantia and ends at Buitenverwachting.

Throughout the relaxed 7-kilometre walk, the tour guide will explain the fascinating history of the Constantia Wine Valley and of course, tastings at each farm are a given. You’ll even get to dig into a scrumptious charcuterie platter by lunchtime at the final stop, all the while learning more about the history of the farms and this beloved drink.

3. Zipline through the forest

Adrenalin junkies can get their thrill on while taking in the magnificent surroundings of Table Mountain Nature Reserve with SA Forest Adventures. Rated as one of the best things to do in Cape Town, the scenery and panoramic views complement this epic journey with the highest zipline reaching 155 metres! Ideally situated along the Hop-On Hop-Off bus route, you can include this highlight while you explore the surrounding wine farms in the Constantia Valley.

5. Turn a chop against the best backdrop

Set in what is arguably one of the most epic picnic and braai spots in the country, Oudekraal forms part of Table Mountain National Park and is a protected marine area. As such, there’s a small fee to enter but it’s well worth it for the chance to braai South African style next to the sea. Oudekraal’s facilities include toilets and built-in braais (bring your own grid) for the perfect day out with epic views and a swimming area if you can brave the icy Atlantic water.

Entrance is free for WILD Card and TMNP My Green Card holders.
