Hand luggage

The required measurements for hand luggage at Air Malta are 40x55x25cm.

Your main hand luggage must not exceed 10kg. One additional piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 2kg is also allowed.

There are three ways you can choose to check in to your flight: at the airport, online, or via your mobile phone.

At the airport

When you get to the departure terminal, locate an Air Malta service desk and their helpful check-in staff will assist you with checking you into your flight, taking in your checked-in baggage, and providing you with your boarding pass.

Online

If you are departing from the following airports, you can skip the queues and check-in online. When arriving at the airport, you can get to the waiting area sooner or enjoy longer lounge access.

Mobile

Mobile check-in is an option that becomes available up to 1 hour before the scheduled departure time. You must check-in at least 45 minutes before the departure time.

To use this option, click on the mobile check-in button which is at the top of the website’s homepage. Fill in the required details, including your name and surname, flight number and reservation record (PNR). When boarding, you won’t need to print your boarding pass, just present your mobile boarding receipt at the gate. With Air Malta, there are six travel classes, three Economy and three for Business.

Economy

Go Light – The first option is for passengers with less than the average amount of luggage.

Go Smart – This option gives you a 25% child discount and a full refund if you cancel in the first 24 hours (less than €10).

Go Flex – This option gives you a free basic seat and special seat (if required).

Business

Just Business – The first business class option allows you to take 1 piece of check-in luggage weighing at a maximum of 32kg.

Smart Business and Business Freedom – These options allow you to take 2 pieces of check-in luggage weighing at 32kg each.
