Best time to visit Bangladesh

The best time to visit Bangladesh is during the dry season, which falls between late-October to March. During this time, the weather is also a lot cooler and pleasing for visitors, as daytime temperatures range between 24°C and 30°C. Most of Bangladesh experiences a long monsoon season, between the months of May and September. During this time, it is low season in the country and you will find cheap flights to Bangladesh. Heavy rains and cyclones stay in the region from May until September. March, April and October are good months to visit too, as you will find good day time temperatures and cool breezes.

Bangladesh has only recently become a tourist destination, and with that in mind, it is a wonderful place to visit, if a bit unsystematic. Visitors to Bangladesh should practice caution, as with all large cities and countries. Locals are very friendly, and willing to help visitors out. Out of the cities, locals may be less familiar with foreigners and very curious, and may want to engage in conversation. Public transport in Dhaka is efficient, but not always the safest as it gets extremely full and can be uncomfortable.

It is always important to go for a general health check-up before a trip overseas. It is best to do this 4-6 weeks before your trip. For your trip to Bangladesh, it is strongly recommended to get the following vaccinations: hepatitis A and typhoid.

Currently, there has been an outbreak of Zika in Bangladesh and pregnant women are not recommended to travel there. Zika is spread via mosquito bites and unprotected sexual encounters.
