Best time to visit Nampula

With plenty of sunshine, almost all year round, Nampula rarely gets cold. The standard temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, and the weather along the coast is sunny and warm, even in mid-winter. The rainy season is from November to April, however it can get very humid and hot in these months. Only a few spells of rain occur during the months of April to May, and is even more infrequent during June through to November. The climate fluctuates according to area, but the city enjoys a solid 8 – 9 hours of sunshine during the day. Due to the climate and culture, the dress code is very relaxed, with sarongs, flip-flops, shorts, and t-shirts acceptable at most places.

Spectacular Iselberg mountain formations break the flat landscape in and around Nampula. Amongst the plunging hills and tall mountains, large volcanic rocks protrude from the earth’s surface, creating mysterious, yet fascinating landscapes.
