Fly To Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Australia
Since Kalgoorlie merged with Boulder, the city is now called Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This Western Australian city is located 595km from Perth right at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. It was founded as a mining town at the end of the 19th Century during the Gold Rush, and is currently the fifth largest urban centre in the country.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s mining history is fascinating, and the century or more since it was formed the city has built a number of beautiful historic buildings that are now home to pubs, stores and a post office. The city is the ideal base from which to explore the other towns in the region, all of which have an equally fascinating history. In fact Kalgoorlie is still an active mining region today, and is responsible for a tenth of the world’s total gold production.
