Due to its location within the Queensland state, Rockhampton experiences a dry, tropical climate, meaning that there is no peak tourist season here. While that means you can get cheaper hotel rates and more availability any time of the year, consider visiting between the months of April and October (mid-autumn – mid-spring). This is the time when rainfall is at its lowest as the summer season, December – February, brings the highest volume of rainfall. The temperatures will average pleasantly in the low to high 20s.
