Fly To Leeds, UK
The city of Leeds is the third largest city in the United Kingdom, and has a population of 1, 8 million people. Leeds developed as a market town in the Middle Ages, with textiles originally a major industry. As a result of foreign competition, the clothing industry has been in decline since the 1970s and today Leeds has become a telephone banking centre. Employment in the service sector now far exceeds that in the traditional manufacturing industries. It is also an important financial centre, particularly in equity, risk and venture finance.
In recent years there has been great expenditure on regenerating the city of Leeds, including the erection of luxury penthouse developments close to the city centre, glass and steel waterfront apartment complexes and renovated Victorian shopping arcades.

See and do
The Royal Armouries Museum was originally built to house the armour and weapons from the Tower of London, but it was subsequently expanded to include 3000 years of fighting and self-defence collectables, from jousting gear to Indian elephant armour. The museum also features hands-on interactive displays and live-action demonstrations.
The Leeds Industrial Museum is housed in a former textile mill and tells the story of Leeds’ industrial past, both good and bad. There is a particularly informative display on how cloth is made.
Leeds’ most impressive medieval building is Kirkstall Abbey. Founded in 1152 by Cistercian monks, it is one of the best-preserved medieval abbeys in Britain. The Abbey House Museum across the road has meticulously reconstructed Victorian houses and shops, and displays that give an interesting insight into monastic life.
