Cluj is a splendid city to visit any time of the year. There is always something happening and with the constant hub of university students in and around town, Cluj has a vibrant feel to it, regardless of the weather. Summer time (June to August) is the most popular time to visit this Romanian city as it is when the weather is most pleasant. Unfortunately, this can often mean that flights and accommodation are very expensive, and tourist sites can be overcrowded too. You can get cheaper flights and accommodation from September through to May. Ideally, travel to Cluj over the springs months (March to May) or in early autumn (September to mid-October) to get the most out of your time in this city.

Romania is very safe to travel to, even when you are on your own. With a language barrier though, be sure of arrangements and prices of things as there might not be a way to overcome confusion. Also, many of the road signs are not in English either, so this is something to be aware of.
It is always important to have your vaccines up to date when you are travelling. When visiting the Cluj, it is recommended to get a vaccination for Hepatitis A as some food or water may be contaminated.
