Travelstart is seeking highly skilled and passionate BI Developer professionals to join our dynamic travel tech team. Travelstart is continually expanding and developing product ranges, technologies and systems in the travel industry.

The purpose of the role is to develop, implement and maintain BI solutions at Travelstart. As part of the Business Analytics Team tasked with spearheading our Business Intelligence and Analytics efforts, optimizing processes and providing data-driven insights

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis on current data to identify gaps and issues with appropriate action.
• Develop reports as required and Dashboards as required
• Administration of Qlik sense platform and BI database
• Ad hoc data analysis
• Review current processes in the organization
• Develop and implement ETL processes from various data sources
• Design and develop data pipelines for the BI platform
• Test output of BI solutions
• Troubleshoot / Investigate and resolve BI data related issues
• Gather and review requirements from users on information needs
• Manage information from 3 party suppliers, as well as document processes and information flow
• Extend analytical capabilities to other markets and departments.

Skills Requirements

• Strong database skills
• Databases: Google BigQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL;
• Data visualisation: Qlik Sense, Tableau, Google Data Studio;
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong technical skills
• Software: GSuite, GCP
• Scripting languages: Java and Python
• Interest in automating processes;
• Ability to conduct exploratory research exercises;
• Ability to work autonomously and with limited guidance;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Experience

• 3 - 5 years’ technical experience working within the Data field
• Experience within the Travel industry will be advantageous but not essential

Professional Qualifications

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification
• Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Management, Actuarial Science or Similar.
