SEO Content Writer

Purpose of role

We are looking for an eager and talented SEO Content writer to join our exciting team! If you want to learn more about ‘writing for the web’, this is your opportunity. You will work closely together with the finest international and national SEO specialists – and be trained accordingly. Embrace the open knowledge sharing culture of Travelstart, and develop your skills with the help of our world-class knowledge sessions. You will be trained to become an expert, when it comes to knowledge on Writing for the web, content optimization and keyword research.

Empowered with this knowledge, you will be writing persuasive content for our landing pages – with only one goal in mind: to attract more visitors to the website. Your tasks will vary from writing fresh new content, updating existing content, proof-reading the work of your colleagues, to uploading fresh new landing pages.

As Travelstart content writer you are able to capture the essence of key messages in as few effective words as possible (e.g. key differentiations, brand, key facts etc.) in order to tell a story that is engaging to our audience.You will work with a design and creative team to communicate with high-impact messages and have clear knowledge of how to distil complexity into simple and clear messaging.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing content and copywriting (web and blog content, newsletters, auto-generated emails, product descriptions, site copy, help guides and general marketing communication)
• Brainstorming and writing creative and innovative campaign copy
• Work closely with the other members of the Marketing team to consistently develop original, relevant and impactful copy
• Contact related webmasters and bloggers for article post opportunities
• Write press releases in conjunction with our Head of Brand and Communications
• Ensure that deadlines are consistently met without any delays
• Meticulously check every single piece of content to correct mistakes and ensure that it is of the highest quality
• Adhere to SEO and Social Media requirements and provide support to all the Marketing channels
• Strong Online Reputation management skills
• Help build and maintain Content Repository

Requirements

• 2 years or more of professional working experience in content writing would give you an edge
• Bachelors Degree or relevant other tertiary qualification
• Understanding of content generation and content distribution through its various channels
• Experience in online e-commerce, especially in the travel business, will be advantageous
• Passion and keen interest in e-commerce; knowledge of user experience, usability principles, personas and content strategy
• Ability to communicate to the audience as a value-giver
• Teamwork and leadership skills
• Driven and results-orientated
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members within the organisation
