Purpose of this Role
As a Product Owner at Travelstart, you will be working closely with a team of
Engineers and Designers. Your purpose is to enable the team to drive
towards a product vision which fulfills your collective objectives.
Key Performance Areas & Indicators
Responsibilities
- Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to identify problems and opportunities
- Proactively manage your stakeholders’ expectations by communicating throughout the product development process
- Work closely with a team of Engineers and Designers, supporting the team in creating a roadmap that will lead you to achieve the team’s objectives
- Define the metrics and KPI’s used to measure the impact of your product development initiatives
- Use both quantitative and qualitative research to improve the product, and report on the performance
- Translate your and your team’s knowledge and experience into user stories, which will clearly outline the different steps towards reaching your team’s objectives
- Manage and prioritise your team’s backlog ensuring that there is a healthy balance of product growth and maintenance, as well as System improvements
- Create and drive an environment of experimentation where each action is a step towards solving a problem and reaching objectives
Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with optimisation and testing tools
- Experience with mobile platforms
- Experience with e-commerce and/or experience in the Travel industry is preferable
- Excellent planning, organisational, written and communication skills
Productivity & Quality
- Implementation of tests from conception, build to live as well as reporting and analysis
- Ensuring all tests are run to a high standard + all tests are rigorously tested before put live
- Providing analysis and reports on testing on a monthly basis
- Highlighting areas of improvement that can increase conversion and optimise the users’ experience
- Undertaking ongoing analysis and optimisation of all content, promotions and campaigns
Error Ratio
- Ensure minimal errors within the set standard of the team.
Adhoc Tasks
- o Adhoc tasks that is required across all teams as per business needs.
Experience
- At least 4 years in an OTA / E-commerce environment
- Exposure to both UI / UX as well as all elements pertaining to Roles and Responsibilities
Training to be Received
- Understanding of Travelstart products – in house
- Understanding of Travelstart back office system – TCC – in house
- Understanding of Travelstart Tech, Product and Company policies - In house
