Purpose of Role
To fit into the agile development team as an Automation test engineer and assist in signing off development work for release.
Responsibilities
- Running the automated testing programs against the full Travelstart platform
- Working with the dev ops teams to facilitate faster deployment with a lower bug rate
- Be responsible for all aspects of automation testing and Quality Assurance on assigned projects
- Be responsible for working with developers and end users to gather testing requirements and then develop and execute automated test strategies
- Working with internal and external customers to create, develop, and execute automated test plans based on the business directive and providing detailed defect analysis reports to these teams
Expectations
AT 3 MONTHS TO ACHIEVE:
- Get a understanding of the industry, platform and environments to be able to comfortably understand what is required in terms of automated testing scenarios
- Participate with manual QA to understand how users interact with the system to be able to assist in UAT and regression testing
- Help grow the list of test cases and scenarios as pre-emptive work for further automation
- Maintenance of current automation projects, including bug fixes and new features
- Fixing and improving current automated tests
AT 6 MONTHS TO ACHIEVE:
- Improved integration of frameworks with continuous release and deployment
- Refactoring frameworks for efficiency gains
- Investigate mocking frameworks allowing focused approach on performance testing of system
- Performance/load testing of entire stack
- Improved integration of mobile testing with CI
Skill Requirements
- Experience in automating UI tests through Selenium WebDriver
- Experience in scripting using Java, JavaScript, Python or other programming language
- Experience in load/stress testing using Apache Jmeter or other performance testing tool
- Experience in test automation of mobile applications (Appium & Selenium)
- Experience in testing Web based application in Agile development process
- Ability to use white box API test tools (e.g. SOAP UI, etc.) to duplicate defects and problems reported by application developers
- Experience with Performance, Regression and Load testing
- Knowledge of QA process, Testing life cycle
- Excellent communication is critical as this role will interact on a daily basis with vendor and business partners
- Demonstrated experience improving development practises to raise quality such as: continuous integration, code coverage analysis and automated code testing tools
- Knowledge of Jenkins Pipeline
- Knowledge of Docker and Terraform

Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in software automated Quality Assurance testing
- Experience with complex integrated applications, proven results in coordinating end to end tests
- Previous experience in the Travel industry would be helpful
