Overview
The main purpose of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences and exhibitions) Manager
is to manage, grow and develop the MICE team within Club Travel Corporate. The manager must provide
outstanding customer service, promote the MICE brand and ensure sales growth. The manager must ensure
that the financial targets of the division are met and exceeded.
Duties & Responsibilities

limited to the full function of the role)
- Talent Management
- To ensure that staff are developed, trained and motivated to improve and promote staff
performance
- Finance
- Implementation of proper financial controls
- Achieve the financial targets of the MICE Division
- Ensure proper costings on MICE events to ensure event profitability
- Timely reconciliations of MICE events
- Ensure that clients pay in advance of any large supplier deposits
- Operational Excellence
- Supervise all event enquiries (existing/new leads) in an accurate, appropriate and timely
manner
- Supervise and support the MICE staff
- Ensure proper execution of all MICE events to the customers’ satisfaction and within budget
- Oversee all event proposals in line with company brand standards, inclusive of creativity
and alignment with the company’s core values
- Ensure all bookings, passenger details, logistic information, internal notes and supplier
notes updated on the systems
- Maintain thorough and up to date record of all bookings for easy access, filing and auditing
purposes
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly invoices
- Coordinate proposals with destinations reservation hubs
- Achieve monthly/quarterly sales and conversation targets
- Provide timely and accurate information and excellent support to external customers (agents,
suppliers and clients)
- Resolve customer service issues to customer’s satisfaction with appropriate corrective and
preventative measures
- Suggest new and improved policies and processes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
- Customer/Market
- Set and exceed new MICE business targets
- Development of Marketing and promotional materials
- Relationship management with MICE suppliers
- Relationship management and support of Hub Managers in the provision of MICE business
- Grow MICE business from existing Club Corporate clients
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in MICE, of which 3 should be in management position
- Minimum 5 years in the Travel Industry
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Excellent Organizational and administration skills
- Project management skills
- Negotiation skills
- Creative and out of the box thinking
- Solid level of Maturity and professionalism to manage a program on the ground with the customer
- Excellent domestic, regional, and international travel experience
- Must be fully proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent understanding of MICE trends and tech used in MICE
- Minimum Matric qualification. Post Matric commercial qualification will be an added advantage

- Must be comfortable in liaising with clients at all levels up to CEO, BoD and Ministerial level
- Must be in possession of a valid passport. This position requires that all staff within the
division travel for site inspections
